Mexico City Announces Vehicle Circulation Restrictions for Saturday

The Hoy No Circula program is active in Mexico City and State of Mexico. Find out which vehicles will be restricted from driving this Saturday and learn the rules of the program.

Mexico City Announces Vehicle Circulation Restrictions for Saturday

The Hoy No Circula program establishes measures for vehicle circulation, aiming to prevent, minimize, and control pollutant emissions. To standardize and minimize the impact on the Megalopolis, including Mexico City and the State of Mexico, this measure was implemented to limit the circulation of private vehicles, regardless of their license plate origin.

Unlike the weekday program, vehicles that cannot circulate on weekends depend on both the hologram and the license plate's last digit, divided into even (0-2-4-6-8) and odd (1-3-5-7-9) numbers. This Saturday, vehicles with hologram 2 and no license plate number will not be allowed on the road.

It is important to note that vehicles with Hologram 1 and an even license plate digit also cannot circulate on every second and fourth Saturday of the month. The restriction also applies to out-of-state vehicles on all Saturdays.

What time does Hoy No Circula start? The Hoy No Circula Sabatino has the same restrictions as the regular program, running from 05:00 to 22:00 hours. What day is there no Hoy No Circula? The only day when the Hoy No Circula does not apply to any vehicle is Sunday, which is exempt from all types of restrictions.
